SUMMARY:

Education is a key to happiness and success of children; dynamic schooling opens up the world to students in so many positive and amazing ways. This year the Seawinds Early Years Learning Centre and Eastbourne Primary School will be commencing an exciting new literacy project called the 3a Rosebud West Children’s Project.

The project is based on the Abecedarian Approach which has shown to have many benefits including enabling children to start school with all the skills needed to be successful in their learning. The program has been very successful. It’s based upon a partnership between the child’s teacher and their family, focusing on developing quality adult – child interactions.

The 3a Rosebud West Children’s Program has the power to change young lives. In Phase One of the program, Early childhood Educators from Seawinds Community Hub and Eastbourne Primary School will undertake intensive training as part of this ground breaking program to improve the education and well-being of children in our care. There will also be many ways in which parents can become involved in the future.

Phase One training will involve 30 participants and take place over four days during April and May.

It is anticipated that subsequent phases will allow Early Childhood Educators from the wider community a chance to take part in this ground breaking training opportunity.
